NBA 2K22 has finally arrived. The latest version 2k Studios’ popular basketball simulator game has an improved face scanning feature. That means you can finally create a MyPlayer that almost looks just like you!
Follow the steps below on how to import your photo from your phone to the game. It’s easier than making a layup, trust me.
How to scan your face in NBA 2K22
You only need four things to successfully scan your face in NBA 2K22. Make sure you have a copy of the game, a verified MyPLAYER account, a smartphone, and–most importantly–your face.
Step 1: Download the MyNBA 2K22 app
The MyNBA 2K22 app is now available for Android smartphones. The iOS version will also be released at a later date.
Step 2: Connect your MyPLAYER account
Sign in to your MyPLAYER account in the MyNBA 2K22 app. Once you’re in, you should be able to connect it to your copy of NBA 2K22.
Step 3: Scan your face with the app
In the MyNBA 2K22 app, select the Scan Your Face option. This enables you to take a selfie using your phone’s front camera. It’s a good idea to hold your smartphone at eye level–let’s say around 18 inches away from your face–to get the best photo. If you want, you can also prop up the phone on a shelf or tripod if you want. Try to avoid locking your eyes directly on the camera. 2K Games has a support page from NBA 2K21 full of tips that can help you with the face scanning process.
Step 4: Upload your scanned photo
Follow the prompts in your MyNBA 2K22 app to complete the scanning and uploading process. Now you’re good to go! Your MyPLAYER–who now roughly looks like you–is now ready to become the new face of NBA 2K22.

How Accurate is the Face Scan?
Remember, face scanning in smartphones is not as advanced as the technology used to import the likeness of real athletes to NBA 2K. So don’t expect a 100% match when you import your scanned face in-game.
