Aliens: Fireteam Elite, the third-person shooter game developed by Cold Iron Studios, officially launched its first season entitled Phalanx. The update arrived on September 8th, 12PM EST and includes gameplay fixes and new content.
How to get Season 1 of Aliens: Fireteam Elite
If you pre-ordered the Aliens: Fireteam on August 24th, then you should already have the Season 1: Phalanx update today. The new class, along with gameplay updates, are free for everyone who purchased the game. Owners of the Deluxe Edition will also receive the Wey Yu Armory pack.
For those who only have the base version of the Aliens: Fireteam Elite, the DLC pack can be bought separately. The Deluxe Edition upgrade option is also available for purchase if you want all current and future content.
What’s New in Season One
Aliens: Fireteam Elite Season 1 introduces players to the new Phalanx class and long-awaited Horde Mode. Four our new weapons, two weapon decals, two weapon colorways, and one head accessory will also be available in-game at SSgt Parks’ Armory. All of these are available for owners of either the base version or Deluxe Edition.
How to Get the Phalanx in Aliens: Fireteam Elite
The Marine Phalanx class is equipped with a collapsible shield. Phalanxes can provide cover on the move for the rest of the fireteam, essentially making them mobile fortresses. The downside is that they can only equip a Handgun or Close Quarters Weapon (CQW) on one hand, since the other hand carries the shield. The Phalanx is also equipped with the Shock Pulse to disrupt foes at point-blank range. This ability is very useful when the fireteam is surrounded by enemies.
Good news, the Phalanx class will be ready to play from the Loadout menu after the Season One update.
How to Access Horde Mode in Aliens: Fireteam Elite
Horde Mode is a new unlockable reward for those who have finished the four main campaigns of Aliens: Fireteam Elite. Once you do, talk to Col. Shipp to unlock the mode. Horde Mode is simple yet fun, all you have to do is to hold off endless waves of enemies. The longer your fireteam survives, the more rewards you receive.
